Energy Research Institute TERI worldwide CIS and Central
Asia Europe Germany Japan North America Centres in India Bangalore
Guwahati Goa A dynamic and flexible organization with a global
vision and a local focus, TERI was established in 1974. While
in the initial period the focus was mainly on documentation
and information dissemination activities, research activities
in the fields of energy, environment, and sustainable development
were initiated towards the end of 1982. The genesis of these
activities lay in TERI’s firm belief that efficient utilization
of energy, sustainable use of natural resources, large-scale
adoption of renewable energy technologies, and reduction of
all forms of waste would move the process of development towards
the goal of sustainability.

RETScreen®
International is a renewable energy awareness, decision-support
and capacity building tool. The core of the tool consists of
a standardised and integrated renewable energy project analysis
software that can be used world-wide to evaluate the energy
production, life-cycle costs and greenhouse gas emissions reduction
for 8 different renewable energy technologies (RET).

Florida
Solar Energy Center (FSEC) " Our mission is to research
and develop energy technologies that enhance Florida's and the
nation's economy and environment and to educate the public,
students and practitioners on the results of the research.
The Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) was created by the Florida
Legislature in 1975 to serve as the state’s energy research
institute. The main responsibilities of the center are to conduct
research, test and certify solar systems and develop education
programs.
As Florida's legislatively-chartered "Type I" energy research
institute with a 30-year history of unique expertise, experience
and infrastructure, we are leading research and development
efforts to bring our vision of Energy Independence to fruition."

Radiation
Measurement |
The
Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Program ARM is the largest
global change research program supported by the U.S. Department
of Energy (DOE). ARM scientists focus on obtaining field measurements
and developing models to better understand the processes that control
solar and thermal infrared radiative transfer in the atmosphere
(especially in clouds) and at the earth's surface. |
GEWEX
Continental Scale International Project |
The
Integrated Surface Irradiance Study (ISIS) is a continuation
of earlier NOAA surface-based solar monitoring programs, in the
visible and ultra violet wavebands. ISIS provides basic surface
radiation data with repeatability, consistency, and accuracy based
on reference standards maintained at levels better than 1% to address
questions of spatial distributions and time trends, at sites selected
to be (1) regionally representative, (2) long-term continuous, and
(3) strategic foci for the research that is now needed. |
IDMP
stands for International Daylight Measurement Programme. It was
set up in 1991, by the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage
(International Lighting Commission) based in Vienna, Austria. What
is the IDMP network ? : 48 stations specialized in high frequency
and high quality daylight and solar radiation measurements. 15 stations
measuring the distribution of light over the sky vault. |
