"Windpower Monthly is the leading news magazine of the international wind energy business, publishing non-stop since 1985. Fiercely protective of its independent status, the magazine provides balanced quality information on wind power and only wind power.

Our focus is on business, policy and economics. Windpower Monthly's authoritative articles from around the world provide a concise yet detailed overview of the essential political, industrial, environmental and technical developments in the global wind energy arena. National news updates are backed by regular charting of market forces, thought-provoking editorials and incisive analyses of business and economic trends.

No other publication offers the same depth and breadth of global news reporting in this specialised field of power production. We provide a magazine for as broad a readership as possible, which nonetheless remains an essential tool for all involved in the job of clean power supply.

It is our aim to increase your awareness of the role being played by an important new technology in electricity generation — and of its potential to play a far greater role in meeting a fundamental need of tomorrow: the clean, safe and economic supply of electricity to all." ... more

Wind Power Methods

"Wind Power Methods For thousands of years, man has been harnessing the power of the wind for use in transportation, motive power for mills and water bore pumps. More recently with environmental damage from the use of fossil fuels in electricity generation, wind power generation has become a priority for not only large energy companies but for people passionate about conserving the environment and home owners dealing with the rising cost of electricity supplies produced by traditional means.

Wind Power Methods is a site dedicated to providing helpful information and resources to people who have an interest in perpetuating sustainable and renewable energy generation methods and systems for the future of the human race on planet earth.

We will be regularly adding articles videos and other media in our quest to inform the world of the developments and advances in wind power generation, wind power turbines, home wind power , wind power kits, wind turbines for homes and home wind generators." ... more

Wind Directions

"Energy has continually been making news for the past 20 years. How much does it cost? Where is it coming from? How can we make it last? When will it run out?

Our country needs to reduce the suspense surrounding all of these questions.

I have been intrigued by energy issues for most of my life. Each person who does something to provide answers on a household basis helps the nation find its way toward a future of energy abundance and freedom.

Through presenting the information I have found, I hope to foster joy and optimism in such a future.

The American Wind Energy Association's Small Wind Turbine Global Market Study found that the U.S. market for small wind turbines--those with rated capacities of 100 kW and less--grew by 15% in 2009 with 20.3 MW of new capacity and $82.4 million in sales.

This growth equates to nearly 10,000 new units. Wind energy is not the answer for every situation, but as you visit this site it is my intention that you'll become better equipped to discern if it is part of the answer for you." ... more

The Wind Engineering Society

"The Wind Engineering Society (WES) is an Associated Society of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) that exists to promote cooperation in the advancement and application of knowledge in all aspects of wind engineering.

Wind Engineering is a wide ranging multi-disciplinary subject concerned with the effects of wind on the natural and built environment. Wind Engineers are involved in managing the risks of wind induced hazards, predicting wind loads on structures and predicting the pedestrian level wind environment. They also work to exploit the wind resource for pollutant dispersion, natural ventilation and as a renewable energy.

The WES organises regular technical meetings in the UK, publishes a quarterly newsletter and acts as a representative body for wind engineering in the UK. It also organises the biennial UK Wind Engineering conference. The WES is also the UK national delegate to the International and European Associations for Wind Engineering.

The WES welcomes all who have an interest in wind engineering, whether in research or in application to design and construction." ... more

"National Wind Watch

"National Wind Watch (NWW) is a coalition of groups and individuals working to save rural and wild places from heedless industrial wind energy development. Through this web site, NWW promotes awareness of and documents the negative impacts of industrial-scale wind turbines on the environment, economy, and quality of life.

Energy security and the need to reduce pollutants and other emissions are serious issues. Therefore, people should not be distracted by symbolic or "feel-good" gestures that fail to meaningfully address these issues and in fact do substantial harm. NWW advocates an intellectually honest assessment of the benefits and costs of industrial wind development. The objective is to be a resource of information and assistance for individuals and local groups seeking the facts about industrial wind power.

National Wind Watch provides a means for diverse groups to share information and strengthen each other. All of the work for NWW is by unpaid volunteers with many other demands on their time and resources but who consider this effort an important contribution to protecting our world.

NWW receives no support from any industry or political interests. Funding comes only from concerned individuals, representing a broad range of perspectives." ... more
