Patented Technology to Clean Biogas

"FirmGreen's patented and proprietary technology includes methods of converting solid, liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons from readily available renewable resources including landfill gas, forest residues, and biomass, into renewable electricity and clean biofuels to power vehicles and fuel cells. FGI has the unmatched ability to process BTU fuel feedstock from such sources as landfills, stranded natural gas fields, and biomass, into the types of alternative, low carbon-emitting transportation fuels required to meet emerging fuel standards for 2010 and beyond."

Renewable Energy & Alternative Fuels

"A wide variety of fuels from renewable sources can be produced, including compressed natural gas(CNG), methanol, and hydrogen. In addition, our technology platform enables production of a variety of other commodities: carbon dioxide (CO2) can be collected, processed and reused to improve crop growth in greenhouses. In the form of dry ice, CO2 is a widely used coolant and may be used as a non-toxic cleaning agent. Dimethyl ester (DME) can be used in a variety of industrial applications such as a flame retardant, hydraulic fluid, antistatic agent and for other textile uses." more

"Chesterfield Biogas - technology for renewable energy

"Chesterfield BioGas was established to provide turnkey solutions for the cleaning, storage and dispensing of biomethane, produced from waste water treatment and anaerobic digestion of organic waste.

In October 2010 we successfully completed the first biogas upgrading project to inject organically produced biomethane directly into the national gas grid. Raw biogas from a wastewater treatment site is being processed using a Chesterfield BioGas Manuka Plus upgrading unit which outputs biomethane up to 99% purity.

This achievement was a defining moment for the UK energy industry and it is expected that the process will be monitored closely by many looking to apply cost-effective renewable energy solutions from organic waste.

The process is environmentally friendly, energy consumption is low and the product is easy to install, manage and maintain.

The product range spans a wide field: our smallest model - the Manuka - with its competitive pricing is specially developed for sewage treatment plants and smaller farms that have lower capacity requirements. The larger models are designed for higher capacity industrial biomethane facilities.

This latest generation of water scrubbing technology upgrades organically produced biogas to pure biomethane for use as pipeline quality gas or for vehicle fuelling. Unlike fossil fuels which are in limited supply and Increasing in price, biogas is extracted via processes that have previously consumed carbon (CO2), resulting in a naturally balanced cycle.

A full advisory, design and project development service can be offered to enable you to gain maximum benefit from this waste-to-energy process." more

MT-Energie GmbH

"MT-Energie GmbH is one of the leading producers of complete biogas plants of all sizes as well as special components. The company is located in Zeven, Northern Germany. With the know-how that comes from many years of experience, we are able to offer our clients systems which are both economic to run and highly efficient.

Our portfolio does not only include the development, planning and construction of biogas plants, but also close technical and biological support. MT-Biomethan GmbH is a company of the MT Group and offers our clients innovative gas processing and feeding technology for biomethane production...

Biogas technology

MT-Energie's biotechnology is based off of a two part, continuously running system. Because of this three tanks are needed: a 1st digester, 2nd digester and storage tank.

The main difference between our system and a classical two step process is that the first digester and second digester are run under the same conditions. The atmosphere in the digester is almost oxygen free. The substrate has a constant temperature in the mesophilic range (40-42°C or 104-107°F) and a neutral pH range (6.7-7.5).

The advantage of this system is the maximization of gas production. In the second step an additional 20% of the gas is extracted." ... more

Philosophy

"In every modern society meaningful utilisation of wastes is of major importance:

1 since wastes are inevitably associated with prosperity and growth,
2 since wastes have to be disposed of in a hazard-free and environmentally friendly manner,
3 since wastes bear a valuable resource,
4 since wastes always accumulate mixted or impure.

At an early stage, BTA had recognised that the separation of wastes into manageable fractions at highest possible purity and their appropriate treatment are prerequisites for an environmentally compatible handling of wastes. Moreover, proper and efficient treatment of wastes also results in economic success.

We feel committed to the task of successfully merging these economic and ecological interests.

Therefore, BTA International has developed the BTA process to a pre-commercial stage already in the 1980s. This method ensures removal of all impurities at an early stage, and combines this step with operationally safe digestion of the organic fraction. The core of the BTA process consists of the hydromechanical treatment by means of the BTA Waste Pulper and the BTA Grit Removal System." ... more

BIOFermTM biogas plants
"BIOFermTM biogas plants provide energy and waste management solutions for a variety of customer sectors. Waste from communities, industrial operations, agricultural centers and waste management organizations is often treated as a liability because of the inherent disposal costs and negative environmental impact. BIOFermTM systems are able to take that liability and turn it into a resource, generating clean renewable energy and reducing the amount of waste needed to be disposed. These significant benefits make a BIOFermTM biogas plant a great choice for many customers."
"BIOFermTM Energy Systems will design the most optimized plant system depending on your input material and energy generation needs. We offer plant systems that use the BIOFermTM dry fermentation process, plant systems that use the Schmack anaerobic digester technology and systems that combine both technologies.

The BIOFermTM dry fermentation system is best suited for solid organic waste, e.g. municipal organic waste including yard waste, manure on straw, commercial food waste, etc. It integrates well with existing composting operations and allows the composting business to extract valuable energy from the organic waste without devaluing the final compost product.

The energy efficient Schmack digesters are suited well for liquid waste streams, homogenous waste streams and energy crops. Some feedstock examples include liquid and solid manure, cheese whey, corn silage and grass silage. The Schmack digester products include a complete mix digester COCCUS, a high solids agitated plug flow digester EUCO and its little brother EUCOlino, the small "plug and play" plant system for dairy farms. Schmack systems have been implemented in a variety of applications including at-the-source waste treatment, distributed power plants to generate electricity and gas injection biomethane plants. Biogas Plants Made from Stainless Steel
"Biogas plants by WELTEC BIOPOWER are made from stainless steel. The biogas forming in the fermenter contains amounts of hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. These aggressive chemicals attack unprotected components. That's why we use:
  - Stainless steel V2A (1.4301/AISI 304) in the area of the fluid level
  - Stainless steel V4A (1.4571/AISI 316Ti) in the area of gas

That ensures the quality and guarantees a long service life of the entire system. Even after 20 years of operation, stainless steel still maintains a very high value."

Individual Possibilities Thanks to Modular Design
"Since every system and every customer has different requirements, our biogas plants are of modular design. This allows for individual and flexible solutions-from compact systems through to computer-aided biogas systems in the megawatt range."

Sustainable Technology - For a Long Runtime
"Technologies that are optimally matched form the basis for a reliable functionality of our plants: The substances used have to be comminuted and mixed together, the gas obtained is further processed and harnessed efficiently. That's why we use only tried and tested system components and develop a majority of our technologies ourselves, e.g.:
  - Metering technology for demand-oriented supply of the substrate
  - Mixing equipment for effective mixing of the fermentation substrate and constant gas yield with low internal energy consumption
  - Gas processing for optimum energy utilization in cogeneration plants
  - Sanitation systems according to EU's regulations on hygiene
  - Solutions for conditioning of digestates" ... more
